OPEN SHOPS are nights where Living Proof opens our doors to the public to come in and do DIY screenprinting on the cheap.  We have a modest basement screenprinting studio near Lake & Chicago – made of equipment that could be largely duplicated by anyone.  We have a reasonable supply of acrylic and fabric inks, a fair amount of small screens, two t-shirt rigs, a few printing tables, two different exposure units, a small dark room for keeping exposed screens, a lovely drying rack, and a basement style washout booth. We charge $10-20 for two days of basic equipment and ink use.  If you have your heart set on any size screen or ink colors needed, please contact us prior to be arriving so we can be prepared-  or you’re free to bring your own personal supplies to use.  Open shops are not classes – it is best that you’re fairly comfortable printing on your own if you’d like to attend open shop.  If you’re not familiar and want to come check out the shop, or if the open shop times do not work for you and you’d like to print – it is possible to make other arrangments with us.  If you’d like to do so, or if you have any other questions or need more information please contact us: wehavelivingproof@gmail.com.
